Description The specific aim of this course is to discover Shakespeare through his texts: defining through detailed textual analysis, not only the ideas of the writer and the cultural / social climate of his ‘Time,’ but also to discover through those qualities inherent to his plays which makes Shakespeare universal and ‘Timeless.’ Assignment: An opinion essay on one of the Shakespearean works studied throughout the course.
Objectives To give students the motivation and skills required for advanced level English as to understand Shakespeare and some of his masterpieces in depth analyses of characters, plot, socio-economic background etc. Following is the list of some of his works to be studied thoroughly: - Macbeth - A Midsummer Night’s Dream - Hamlet
